About Fluidstack

Technology is the most important tool humans have found for improving the human condition, but it is not a default good. It is a lever for ideology.

Today the most powerful technology in history is being built: machines that solve problems better than humans can. The most important mission of our generation is to imbue AI with democratic values: error-correcting institutions, freedom of speech, individual liberties. AI trains and runs on massive compute clusters. Whichever ideology builds the infrastructure the fastest is the ideology that will endure. Democracy is delicate and won't survive this technology by default.

We hire people who care deeply about this problem space. If that is you, please apply!

How We Operate

  • Be a barrel. Full autonomy. Own things end to end, take on scope without being asked, no permission required to operate outside your core role.

  • Insane urgency. We drive everything forward as fast as possible.

  • Reason from first principles. Challenge every assumption. Zero analogy thinking, no egos, the best idea wins.

  • Love of the game. The frontier of AI is the most interesting problem of our time. We put in long hours at high intensity to push the frontier forward.

  • Build something that actually matters. If you're going to spend your time, spend it on something that matters to the world.

The Data Center Design Team

Examples of key problems the team is working on

  • Lead the design, development, and execution of 10s to 100s of GWs of data centers this decade.

  • Drive the next generation of liquid cooling and electrical distribution systems.

  • Develop and scale first-of-a-kind modular data centers.

  • Influence behind-the-meter designs and planning for multi-GW campuses.

Role Scope

  • Produce civil drawing sets for data center site development: grading, drainage, erosion control, utilities, and site plans, from engineer redlines to issued-for-construction.

  • Turn drawing revisions around inside a day during permitting and construction, when a submittal date or an open RFI is waiting on the sheet.

  • Build and maintain the civil CAD standards (templates, layers, detail library) so every site's drawing set is consistent and the next project starts ahead.

  • Coordinate civil sheets against structural and architectural models to catch clashes on paper before they cost time in the field.

  • Prepare permit exhibits, plats, and agency-requested revisions that keep submittals moving without pulling engineers off design work.

What We're Looking For

  • The below is a starting point. We always make space for exceptional people, so if you don't fit this role exactly, tell us where you would.

  • You've drafted civil construction documents in Civil 3D or AutoCAD that were issued for construction and built from.

  • You've built surfaces, grading, corridors, and pipe networks in Civil 3D yourself, from survey data to finished sheets.

  • You've turned engineer redlines into finished sheets on same-day deadlines and kept the set consistent while doing it.

  • You keep drawing sets internally airtight: callouts resolve, matchlines align, and every referenced detail exists.

  • You've worked deadlines where a missed submittal slips a permit, and the sheet was ready.

  • You've set up or maintained CAD standards that other drafters followed.

  • Bonus: Data center, industrial, or utility-scale solar site work. Revit or Navisworks coordination. Survey data processing. Permit exhibit and plat preparation. Erosion control and SWPPP drawing experience.

We are committed to pay equity and transparency.
